Let's Celebrate Plush Animal Lover’s Day with Hansa Toys
A stuffed toy is a toy with an outer fabric sewn from a textile and then stuffed with a flexible material. In North American English, they are variously referred to as plush toys, stuffed animals, plushies, snuggies, stuffies, or snuggled animals. In British English, they are soft toys or cuddly toys.
The toys developed in their current form in the early years of the 20th century and have remained consistently popular with children throughout. Different fads have caused specific toys to surge in popularity among adults and collectors.
Textiles commonly used include plain cloth and pile textiles like plush or terrycloth. Common stuffing materials are synthetic fiber batting, cotton, straw, wood wool, plastic pellets or beans. Plush toys are made in many different forms, often resembling real animals (sometimes with life size), legendary creatures, cartoon characters or inanimate objects. They can be used as comfort objects, for display or for collecting; or given as gifts, such as for graduation, Valentine's Day, Christmas, or birthdays.
Hansa Plush animals are designed and created from portraits of animals in their natural habitat by a team of highly qualified researchers, artists, craftspeople and technicians, giving each beautifully fabricated creature a distinct personality and look.
The animals are anatomically scaled from small size to actual life size like the 5-meter (16-foot) tall Giraffe. The materials are carefully designed and tested to comply with every safety standard around the world. Every sculptured creation is filled with fiber made from recycled PE bottles thus conserving our natural resources.
Hansa conducts educational tours for students to learn about the habitat and behavior of the animals as well as the danger they face. Working together with museums, conservation organizations and educational institutions makes Hansa unique. Here is some interesting facts about our stuffed Mammoth mother, beautifully crafted, entertaining to play with, and very educational.
About Woolly Mammoths
A mammoth is any species of the extinct genus Mammuthus, one of the many genera that make up the order of trunked mammals called proboscideans. The various species of mammoth were commonly equipped with long, curved tusks and, in northern species, a covering of long hair. They lived from the Pliocene epoch (from around 5 million years ago) into the Holocene at about 4,000 years ago, and various species existed in Africa, Europe, Asia, and North America. They were members of the family Elephantidae, which also contains the two genera of modern elephants and their ancestors.
The woolly mammoth (Mammuthus primigenius) is perhaps the best-known species of mammoth. The earliest bone records of this species are around 150,000 years old, and it went extinct over most of its range approximately 10,000 years ago. A race a dwarf woolly mammoths existed on Wrangel Island off the coast of Russia until roughly 3,700 years ago. Amazingly, many specimens of woolly mammoth remains are not fossilized, but are frozen organic matter.
Fully-grown woolly mammoths could be as tall as 13 feet and weighed nearly 9 tons. It’s named for the thick coat of shaggy hair which could grow to over three feet in length and was probably shed in the summer months. Unlike modern elephants, the woolly mammoth had numerous glands under its skin that secreted fatty grease into the mammoth’s hair. These characteristics, along with a typical fat layer nearly three inches thick, gave the woolly mammoth excellent insulation against both wet and cold weather conditions.

28th October, 2018 will be "Plush Animal Lover’s Day".
Plush Animal Lovers Day is a day of celebration that is held every year to show your favorite stuffed toy some extra special love and appreciation. There’s an urban legend that says that the Teddy Bear, one of the worlds most popular plush animal pets, was invented when American President Theodore Roosevelt saw a baby bear on a hunting trip, and refused to shoot it.
History of Plush Animal Lover’s Day
The origins of the day’s creation are vague but there is an unconfirmed Urban Legend that the day first came about after a collectibles dealer named Royal Selangor came up with the idea of a Teddy Bears Picnic Day in the late eighties. Other stuffed toys became jealous that Teddy Bears were being singled out for their own celebration and demanded a special day all of their own! Not long after, Plush Animal Lovers Day quickly replaced Teddy Bears Picnic Day in popularity!
